Commemorating the Parinirvāṇa of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa

This year we honor the 45th anniversary of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa’s parinirvāṇa with events in Kathmandu, Nepal, onsite at Karmapa Center 16, and online.

Events in Kathmandu

Karmapa Center 16 Taiwan will again be offering amazing events to celebrate together in Kathmandu, Nepal, from October 24-November 5. These will include a group pilgrimage and traditional kora (circumambulation) of the Boudha Stupa as well as special events at Dilyak Monastery and more!

Even if you can’t make it in-person, you can still participate in-spirit and as a sponsor of these meritorious events, including our Rainbow Aspiration Cards.

Onsite in Illinois:

On November 5th our KC16 resident Lama Zopa, and Lama Karma from KTC, will do an extensive version of His Holiness 16th Karmapa’s Guru Yoga practice, composed by His Eminence 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche. 

On November 6th there will be Amitabha practice in the morning until lunch.

Online

On November 7th at 10am CT we will offer our regular monthly Guru Yoga practice online. Acharya Lhakpa Tshering is hoping to join us from Nepal. 

This will be a special opportunity to practice together and celebrate His Holiness.
